OK… so the television shows Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel are not strictly religious texts…..but they’re damn close. They are multi-dimensional, layered texts that can be interpreted in a variety of ways; they employ the sub-textual, metaphorical, and allegorical realms to construct meaning. They incite devotion in Buffyverse devotees bordering on the obsessive. And at the end of the day…in Joss we Trust.
Checkpoint is a collection of writings that offer interpretation of various aspects of the Buffyverse including episodes, characters, relationships, individual seasons and the series as a whole. They are, of course, my own interpretations of the series. I do not claim that my readings are the only way to read the texts – they are just one perspective written with the aim of fostering discussion and enthusiasm for all things Buffy.
